Barcelona is a prime location, bathed by the sea and with excellent transport links to the rest of Europe. Its geographical location and the openness of its inhabitants are the driving force behind the city's continuous cultural expansion.
There are several ways to reach the city by different means of transport.
The town center is a taxi ride away from the airport. It will take 20 to 30 minutes and costs approximately 25€ with supplements for extra luggage. Official taxis in Barcelona are yellow and black. If you are pleased with the service, 5% is a good yardstick for tipping.
There is also the Aerobus which leaves the airport every 15 minutes. A one way ticket costs 3.90€. www.emt-amb.com/links/bus.htm
You can also take the train from the airport, which leaves every 30 minutes from the station "Aeropuerto". That will take you to Barcelona Sants or Passeig de Gracia railway stations, where you jump on the subway. Estacio de Franca is another a station where you can get off but has no subway connection. One way by train will cost 2.60€.
